Gilmore Girls Reading is Sexy T-shirt

Are you looking for the Reading is Sexy T-shirt worn by Alexis Bledell (Rory) in an episode of Gilmore Girls (Season 5, Episode 14 “Say Something,” somewhere around 15 minutes into the episode, to be specific). Well, here it is:

Sarah Utter is the original designer of this particular Reading is Sexy T-shirt. You can buy the T-shirt on Amazon from Sarah. BuyOlympia.com is home to a bunch of Sara Utter’s other awesome designs, like this Future Librarian T-shirt and Guybrarian T-shirt. If you love the Reading is Sexy shirt, you’ll probably dig quite a few of her other designs as well.

If you’re looking for the shirt in the exact colors that Rory wore on Gilmore Girls, then you’ll have to order it from the WB website. Because the show went to CW and then was canceled, I don’t know how long it will be available here, so grab it quick if you’ve got your heart set on green and yellow. You are out of luck. The WB appears to no longer be selling this shirt and Buy Olympia doesn’t offer it in these colors.

  1. Hello,

Thanks for giving Sarah props. She is a friend and certainly deserves the credit for this design. I recently interviewed Sarah for a talk show that I am creating and she mentioned that her shirt was featured on Gilmore Girls. I have never actually watched Gilmore Girls and am hoping to find the episode so I can use a clip for the talk show. I am not sure if you still check this site, but if you do, and you know what episode Sarah's shirt appears on, could you pass the word along to me? Thanks.

    • No problem, Jennifer. I update this site pretty frequently. Having chosen this name for my blog immediately garnered many emails and comments about Sarah's shirt design, so I created the little info page for people. It continues to be one of the most visited pages on this blog. I was able to do some searching and found that Rory wore this T-shirt in Season 5, Episode 14 "Say Something," somewhere around 15 minutes into the episode (Yay for Google!).
