Concord Free Press is a non-profit book publisher. They put out one book at a time, giving away thousands of copies completely free. All they ask is that you make a charitable donation ($5 to the Humane Society, a sandwich for a hungry person, etc.) and share what you donated on their website. When you’re done, give the book to someone else and ask that they do the same. It’s all about giving and generosity. A simple and beautiful thing. Recently, CFP launched their e-book sister site Concord EPress. The digital books they offer are not free, but the price you pay for them goes to support the free, hardcopy books that CFP gives away. You can purchase digital books by Stona Fitch, who penned CFP’s first free book, Give + Take that I reviewed here in 2009 or CFP’s second book release by Wesley Brown, Push Comes to Shove. Currently, they have 12 books to choose from for $7.77 (via Amazon.com).
Other news: Two of their free books have been released commercially by larger publishers, as well. The book IOU that I mentioned here has launched. Sadly, I have not kept up so well with their new releases. If anyone has a copy of the later CFP books to pass along, email me or comment with contact info.
