Thanks for leaving a note on my blog.

I’ve never been pregnant or read anything by Jenny McCarthy. I did see her on Oprah talking about autism an her son. I can’t really remember what she said about anything. Beyond that I don’t know who she is either. I think it’s odd how people put trust and faith in actors, as if they know more than any other random person. However, they are nice as eye candy.

The only pregnancy book I’ve been able to read was ‘Up the Duff’ by Kaz Cook. Everything else made me irritated, upset or angry (I’m talking all the nonfiction stuff. )
‘Up the Duff’ was different – honest, funny, informative and not overwhelming. It’s australian though, so it might be hard for you to find.

Her opinions on vaccines bother me, too. Not vaccinating our children can put a whole generation at risk of some pretty horrible diseases. I honestly feel that people who have decided that vaccines cause autism are not looking deeply enough. There are far more things in modern society that could lend to this boom in autism than vaccines that worked wonderfully for the past five or six generations and did not cause autism (even when some of them contained ingredients like mercury.)

Her energy and activism is fantastic. I hope she and others continue to fight for answers, but suggesting that parents not vaccinate is a very worrisome subject to me.

I flipped through this at a store once and it did little for me. I think McCarthy is better suited as being an advocate for children damaged by vaccines, and I encourage her in that pursuit.
